Thanks for asking! We’ve seen some comments from strangers labeling us as trust-fund kids who don’t have to work. Our families are pretty much middle class families. They help us out when they can/want to, but we both work on the road to pay for all of our campground fees, gas, food, and everything else. I (John) build websites, and Laura is a virtual assistant (like being a personal assistant, but it’s all handled online). Both jobs offer us flexible hours which makes it possible to do all the exploring that we do.
Our life on the road isn’t any more expensive than a more “normal” stationary life. Our main expenses are campground fees and fuel. If you averaged both of them together per month, it would probably be about the same as a decent apartment in a major city.
